about me
My name is Jürgen Mayer,
I’m a Photographer.
When I hold the camera in my hand during a shoot, I have a very special feeling that is difficult to explain. I feel alive in a very special way.
I study the light, the situation and the atmosphere and then translate everything into my pictures. Respect for my motifs with all their facets and emotions comes first.
Inspired by great photographers like Peter Lindbergh or Vincent Peters, I mainly shoot in black and white and with available light.
I quickly learned that there is no right or wrong in photography. There are fascinating images that are completely off the mark from a technical point of view, and there are technically flawless images that are nevertheless completely boring or meaningless. Nevertheless, the old adage that you first have to know the rules in order to break them consciously also applies, or especially in this discipline. And that's exactly what makes the whole thing so interesting to me. There are so many varieties of photography that it should never get boring.
Photographing people, especially women, has become a passion for me. This area of photography is very demanding and multifaceted. Portrait, lifestyle, sensual or street can often not be clearly separated from each other and are not mutually exclusive.
Photography is my passion, not my profession.
